About Art Center

Opening of every gallery comprises the hope of a better future for the world which not perhaps but definitely will become a better place to live in. It ought to become a better place otherwise the men would have to decline, an infinite deficiency.
Iran, Tehran, The last Friday of October 2010: “Art Center”; a jam-packed street in the crowded vicinity. On the corner of a street, a building which is remained from the old districts of North part of Tehran; renovated by design and management of Vahid Malek with a special artistic taste. This building was not supposed to only host the professional gallery-goers, but also ordinary people were target of this gallery which has been enormously appealing for every passerby. With a unique collection of paintings, graphic designs, new art such as video art and supporting innovative movements of young students. The vernissage of the gallery took place exactly on World Food day, 16th Oct, in an area with about five hundred square meters and capacity of exhibiting more than two hundred artworks, with three separated galleries, Malek, Pasargad and Elahieh. The majority of artists and gallery-goers admit that this building had had the most crowded openings and had been enormously appealing for the audiences during the second half of the year 2010. The complex, with a 32 meters glass façade, catches the attention of some of the pedestrians of the street, thus they unconsciously become the audiences of the street art.
“Art Center” endeavors to be as much as comprehensive and has efficiency and competence. The aim is to select the most influential painters of every generation and exhibit their works, also the gallery-owners try to explore the innovative methods and establish the young artists. No matter how young the artist is, this gallery tries to exhibit the vivid artworks of talented young artists. Tomorrow belongs to those people who are anticipating the better future; the people who are alive and restless and know that they are not too far from their deserved states.
Since the opening of “Art center” in Tehran, the gallery has hosted more than 23 exhibitions with more than 543 prominent and talented artists including painters, calligraphers, sculptures, photographers and drawers from different generations of Iranian contemporary artists.
All the artists who worked with Art Center gave a partial of their profits to the World Food Program (WFP).
In March 2010, the collection of Art Center was recognized as the best collection by municipally of Tehran and Vapid Malek, the manager of the gallery, was honored for his efforts.
Other programs
One of the other activities of the Art Center was to organize a ceremony to honor Parvis Tanavoli. The ceremony took place in Kashan on 6th of June 2010.
Upcoming Programs:
Art Center of Tehran has recently started its international programs. It has exhibited Iranian art in USA and will have an exhibition in Paris Art Center in Fall 2010. It will bring the Australian Art to Tehran and will introduce the art of Iranian young artists to the world. The gallery’s aim is to organize various shows on artworks of professional prominent artists.
